The Charming Cherubs approach to Early Childhood Education

At Charming Cherubs Early Learning Centre, we believe that play is the cornerstone of a child's learning journey. Our approach to play-based learning is anchored in creating environments that stimulate curiosity, encourage exploration, and ignite the joy of discovery. From imaginative play areas to hands-on activities, we strive to foster a love for learning that naturally unfolds through play.

Our commitment to play-based learning extends to all aspects of our curriculum. From structured play activities to unscripted, child-driven play, we believe that every moment is an opportunity for learning. Our play-based approach is not just a philosophy, it's a cornerstone of our comprehensive Kindergarten program and a broader curriculum meticulously aligned with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF). This intentional approach promotes creativity, problem-solving, and social skills, laying a foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

Our Curriculum

The VEYLDF and The Charming Cherubs curriculum aim to work on 5 very important outcomes:

  • Children learn about themselves and construct their own identity within the context of their families and communities. This includes their relationships with people, places and things and the actions and responses of others.

  • Having a positive sense of identity and experiencing respectful, responsive relationships strengthens children’s interests, knowledge and skills in being and becoming active contributors to their world.

  • A strong sense of wellbeing strengthens a sense of belonging and encourages children to trust others and feel confident in being. Wellbeing includes physical health, fitness, activity and leisure, nutrition, sleep and rest, feelings of satisfaction and successful social functioning.
